The exhibits at Forum Wissen come largely from the more than 70 academic collections of the University of Göttingen. Since the university was founded, academics from a wide range of disciplines have been collecting objects that they use for research and teaching. Over the centuries, many valuable collections have been created, which until now could only be seen during the Sunday walks (in German). We are now making some of these collections accessible in the Forum Wissen.
An overview of the collections as well as access to over 70,000 digitised objects is provided by the Göttingen Collections Portal. For further information, we also recommend the pages of the specialist collections. They are currently available in German only.
