Do you have an idea for a special exhibition?

Wonderful! Here you can find out whether your idea fits into the Forum Wissen: The main theme of our basic exhibition ‘Spaces of Knowledge’ is the creation of knowledge. Our special exhibitions focus on topics from research and their impact on society, provide an impetus to engage with current debates and deal with interdisciplinary issues. They often deal with interdisciplinary topics, but can also focus on a single discipline or collection. Our special exhibitions are also about making the processes of knowledge creation tangible. The focus is on working methods and questions, rather than the results themselves.

Our exhibitions always refer to the following questions:

  • Perspectives: Who is involved in the creation of knowledge? Who is not?
  • Practices: What activities, skills and working methods are used to produce knowledge?
  • Connections: In welche Netzwerke sind die Wissen-Schaffenden und die Dinge des Wissens (Objekte und Zeugnisse) eingebunden?

Special exhibitions can be integrated into the ‘Spaces of Knowledge’ as open spaces (Freiflächen), in the separate exhibition space (Freiraum) or in the large special exhibition area (Sonderausstellungsfläche).

Our exhibtion projects

  • are orientated towards the interests and needs of our visitors
  • are created in cooperative and participatory processes with various partners from science and society (applies above all to the special exhibition area and the open space)
  • emphasise the relevance of the exhibition theme to society (applies above all to the special exhibition area and the open space)
  • enable people with disabilities to participate and be included
  • address the perspectives and interests of minorities and are directed against racism and discrimination with regard to all dimensions of the General Equal Treatment Act (age, disability, ethnic-cultural affiliation/intercultural affiliation, gender, religion, sexual orientation)
  • are committed to sustainability and the economical use of resources
